Fees & gas

Every cost, quoted before you sign.

Darkpool charges a small protocol fee on trades and swaps. Everything else is Ethereum gas, reimbursed to the relayer at the quoted price, plus a small fixed service fee.

Fee table

What each action costs.

“Network fee” is the relayer’s gas reimbursement: you see the exact amount in the wallet before confirming. Third-party market fees are set by those markets, not by Darkpool.

Action Protocol fee Relayer Also applies
Shield (deposit) None Not relayed: you pay gas from the depositing wallet —
Private send None Network fee + 0.00003 ETH service fee —
Withdraw, relayed None Network fee + 0.00003 ETH service fee —
Withdraw, direct None No relayer: you pay gas yourself —
Ghost Buy 0.1% of the trade Network fee + service fee Stockereum’s trading fee
Ghost Sell 0.1% of the trade Network fee + service fee, paid from the sale Stockereum’s trading fee
Private Swap 0.1% of the swap Network fee (two proofs, roughly double gas) + service fee The Uniswap v3 pool fee
Stake / unstake stDARK 0% Network fee + service fee, as for any relayed private action —
Fee types

Three kinds of fee, nothing hidden.

  • 0.1%

    Protocol fee

Charged only on Ghost Buy, Ghost Sell and Private Swap, as a share of the trade. It is enforced by the contracts and is protocol revenue. In a planned design , part of that revenue would buy $DARK for the stDARK staking vault.

  • Quoted

    Network fee

The relayer pays Ethereum gas and is reimbursed from your shielded balance. The amount is quoted before you sign and the signed ceiling cannot be exceeded. If gas rises above the quote, you get a fresh quote.

  • 0.00003 ETH

    Service fee

A small fixed fee per relayed action that pays for running the relayer. It is part of the quote you sign. A direct withdrawal pays no service fee.

Gas

Why private actions cost more gas.

Verifying a zero-knowledge proof and updating the Merkle tree on Ethereum is expensive. A private action uses about 1.6–2.0M gas; a Private Swap carries two proofs and uses roughly double. What that costs in ETH depends entirely on the gas price at the time:

network fee ≈ gas used × gas price
